York City Nature Challenge – Day1

26 April @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

A repeat of last year’s successful event using iNaturalist to identify the flora and fauna of the Foss. The RFS gazebo will appear at the riverside to act as a base for anyone interested in finding out what lives along, and maybe in, the Foss. The iNaturalist app allows you to photograph and identify pretty much anything living you find. To encourage participants, this is also a competition between groups to see which one can find the most species – last year the RFS was in the top three nationally!!!

It’s an event for all, members and non-members, and all the family. You have no idea what there is to be found until you really look closely. Just come along with a smart phone and we’ll help you get going, stay for as long or as little as you want.

The exact venue is yet to be finalised, but it will be between New Earswick and Huntington

More details from Mike Gray/Barbara Hilton nearer the time.
